These terms are the agreement between you and MatchPoint for use of the MatchPoint app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use MatchPoint.
Plain-language summary
Use MatchPoint to score and log your matches. Don't misuse it or break the law with it. It's provided “as is”, we're not liable for indirect damages, and it's licensed to you — not sold. This summary is for convenience; the full terms below govern.
01 The agreement
This is a binding agreement between you (“you”) and MatchPoint (“we”, “us”). It covers the MatchPoint application, its Apple Watch companion, and any updates or related services we provide (together, the “App”). You must be able to form a binding contract to accept these terms.
02 Licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. This licence is for your own non-commercial use of scoring and tracking your matches.
03 Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- →Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where the law expressly permits.
- →Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its content.
- →Use the App to break any law or infringe anyone's rights.
- →Interfere with or disrupt the App's normal operation or security.
04 Your content & data
Match data and player labels you enter belong to you. We don't claim ownership of them. The App stores this data on your device and syncs it to your private account in our secure cloud (Cloud Firestore, operated by Google/Firebase on our behalf), as described in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for keeping your device and your account credentials secure.
05 Health & fitness disclaimer
MatchPoint shows heart rate, calories and workout data from Apple Health for informational purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified professional about your health, and stop exercising if you feel unwell.
06 Purchases & subscriptions
The App is currently free to download. If we offer paid features or subscriptions in future, they'll be sold through the App Store, billed to your Apple account, and governed by Apple's payment and refund policies. Any subscription auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and you can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
07 Updates & availability
We may update, change, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We aim to keep MatchPoint running smoothly, but we don't guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
08 Intellectual property
The App, its design, branding, and all related materials are owned by MatchPoint and protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms don't transfer any ownership to you beyond the limited licence in Section 2.
09 Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You use the App at your own risk.
10 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MatchPoint will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App, if any.
11 Apple-specific terms
This agreement is between you and MatchPoint only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the App. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12 Termination
You may stop using the App and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end your licence if you breach these terms. On termination, the licence ends, but sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers and liability limits) continue to apply.
13 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which MatchPoint operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
14 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top of this page, and material changes may be highlighted in the App. Continuing to use MatchPoint after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
