MatchPoint is built privacy-first. You sign in with an email and password so your match history syncs across your devices, we don't sell your data, and we never use your Apple Health information for advertising. This page explains exactly what the app touches and why.
The short version
You sign in with an email and password. Your matches save on your device and sync to your private account in our secure cloud (Cloud Firestore, run by Google on our behalf). Health metrics are read from Apple Health only with your permission, and written back as workouts. We don't run ads and we never sell your data — and you can delete your account and all its data at any time.
01 Who we are
MatchPoint (“MatchPoint”, “we”, “us”) is the developer of the MatchPoint scoring app for iPhone and Apple Watch. If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at support@marceloamoretti.com.
02 Information the app handles
We've kept the data footprint deliberately small. Here's everything the app works with and where it lives.
We collect your email address for your account. We do not collect your real name, phone number, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers. Player names you enter are just labels for the scoreboard. If you turn on notifications, we also store a push token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver them — optional, and the app works without it.
03 Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you choose to run matches as workouts, MatchPoint asks permission to read and write specific HealthKit data. You control this at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
- →Read: heart rate and active energy during a live match, shown on the scoreboard.
- →Write: a workout session (type, duration, energy) saved to Apple Health when the match ends.
In line with Apple's requirements, data obtained through HealthKit is never used for advertising, marketing, or sold to data brokers, and is never shared with third parties for those purposes.
04 How your data is stored
Match history is saved on your device first, then synced to your private account in Cloud Firestore — a database operated by Google (Firebase) on our behalf — so it's available on all your signed-in devices. Access rules ensure only you can read or write your own data, and it's encrypted in transit. Health data always stays inside Apple Health under Apple's own privacy protections; we never copy it to our cloud.
05 What we don't do
- →We don't sell or rent your personal data — to anyone, ever.
- →We don't show ads or use advertising trackers (no IDFA, no ad SDKs).
- →We don't use your data — including anything from Apple Health — to build marketing profiles.
- →We don't track you across other apps or websites.
06 Your rights & choices
You're always in control of your data. You can:
- →Delete a match by swiping it in History.
- →Delete your account and all its data from inside the app — open the menu and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and every match synced to our cloud.
- →Revoke Health access in the iOS Health app at any time.
- →Need a hand? Follow our account & data deletion guide.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the LGPD in Brazil), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data. Email support@marceloamoretti.com and we'll help.
07 Children's privacy
MatchPoint is intended for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
08 Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note it in the app. Continuing to use MatchPoint after an update means you accept the revised policy.
