Q. Do I need an account to use MatchPoint?
Yes. MatchPoint uses a free account (email and password) — there's no guest mode. Signing in lets your match history save on your device and sync to your private account in our secure cloud (Cloud Firestore, by Google/Firebase) so it's there on all your devices. You can delete your account and all its data from inside the app at any time.
Q. Which sports and formats are supported?
Tennis, padel and pickleball. All three use tennis-style scoring — deuce/advantage, tiebreaks, games and sets; padel and pickleball are supported as sport labels scored with tennis rules (not official golden-point or rally/side-out scoring). You can choose best of 3, best of 5 or a pro set, singles or doubles, when you set up a match.
Q. My match didn't save as a workout in Apple Health.
MatchPoint needs permission to write workouts. Open the iOS Health app → Sharing → Apps → MatchPoint, and make sure Workouts and Active Energy are turned on. Then run a new match to confirm.
Q. Heart rate isn't showing on the scoreboard.
Heart rate comes from Apple Watch during a live match. Make sure your watch is on your wrist and unlocked, that you started the match on the watch (or kept the watch app open), and that Heart Rate is enabled for MatchPoint in the Health app.
Q. The watch and phone scores don't match.
The two stay in sync over Bluetooth. If they drift, keep both devices nearby and awake for a few seconds, or score from a single device for the rest of the match. The end result is always taken from the device you finish on.
Q. I tapped the wrong score — can I undo it?
Yes. Tap the undo button on the phone, or press and hold / swipe down on the watch to reverse the last point. You can keep undoing back through the match.
Q. Is MatchPoint free? What happens at launch?
MatchPoint is free to download and play right now. Some advanced features may become part of a subscription later — early supporters will be looked after. Email us if you have questions about pricing.
Q. When is the Android version coming?
An Android version is in development. The iOS and Apple Watch experience comes first because the workout tracking is built on Apple Health. Watch this site for the Google Play launch.
Q. How do I delete my data?
Follow our
account & data deletion guide. In short: delete matches in History, revoke Health access in the Health app, and remove the app to erase everything from the device.
